I work with people who are feeling the effects of adversity such as stress, transitions, loss, or trauma. The type of adversity my clients have been through is often complex and multilayered. It is not necessarily a single event that is causing distress, but a series of past or ongoing events. Humans are brilliant at adapting through adversity, and over time, these adaptations can become practiced patterns. When the patterns outlive their usefulness, however, they can become a source of anxiety, overwhelm, or distress.
I specialize in guiding my clients as they explore what is getting in the way of what they would like for themselves. Often, this means bringing awareness to familiar patterns while moving toward more preferred, authentic ways of being. It's an exploratory yet purposeful process which is anchored by our therapeutic relationship.
